Grizzly bear active around Dubois
RIVERTON, Wyo. (AP) — Reports of grizzly bear sightings around Dubois have prompted wildlife officials to advise Fremont County residents to be vigilant about securing garbage, bird seed and animal feed.
Brian DeBolt, of the Wyoming Game and Fish Department, says he has received several calls about grizzly bears in the last couple of weeks.
Dubois is a town of about 1,000 residents in northwest Fremont County.
If any bears begin to congregate in the area, DeBolt says Game and Fish will try to capture the animals and relocate them.
For now though, he tells the Riverton Ranger that the grizzlies simply seem to be migrating through the region.
It’s been a busy year for bear activity so far, which DeBolt attributes to the growing population of both black and grizzly bears.
