In two weeks, American Idol will dim the lights forever, but not before going out with a bang. The series’ three-night grand finale will include performances by Idol superstars Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood, who will return to the stage on April 7.
The Fox singing competition will kick off the three-night event at 8 p.m. Tuesday (April 5) with the 90-minute retrospective American Idol: American Dream. The show will feature host Ryan Seacrest, current and former judges, former Idol contestants and the behind-the-scenes team sharing personal memories. The original trio of judges, Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson, will share stories about how the show came to be on Tuesday’s special.
