Story from ButteSports.com
BROWNING — It might not have been a thing of beauty Friday night, but Butte Central improved to 2-0 on the football season with a 20-0 non-conference win over Browning at rainy Arrowhead Stadium.
Tanner Kump and Blake Burton scored on touchdown runs, while Jake Michelotti recovered a fumble for a TD to lead the Maroons on a rainy night that saw BC go without a single completion in the second half.
After a scoreless first quarter, Kump, BC’s quarterback, scored on a 6-yard run to put BC up for good at 6-0. The Maroons failed on 2-point conversions on their first two scores.
Blake Burton, whose return from a broken foot couldn’t have come at a better time, made it 12-0 with a 10-yard run in the fourth quarter.
Burton carried 18 times for 126 yards one week after running back Kyle Harrington was lost for the season with a torn ACL.
BC capped the scoring when lineman Jake Michelotti recovered a fumble in the end zone for a TD. After a penalty that moved the ball half the distance to the goal, Ryan Moodry punched in the 2-point conversion.
Kump ran 9 times for 22 yards. He also completed 8 of 23 passes for 84 yards. He hit Cole Harper seven times for 54 yards. Cal Hollow caught one pass for 30 yards. He also ran four times for 27 yards.
Butte Central will be back on the road next week when the Maroons look to go 3-0 at Hardin.
