THE BULLDOGS WERE DOWN BY 7 AT HALFTIME AGAINST COLUMBIA FALLS LAST FRIDAY…UNTIL MR. OLIVER STEELE GOT A HOLD OF THE BALL. THE BUTTE HIGH SENIOR PICKED OFF THE PASS AT THE BUTTE HIGH 15-YARD LINE, AND RAN 84 YARDS BEFORE BEING CAUGHT 1 YARD SHY OF THE END ZONE. MR. SAMPSON HAD A CAREER DEFINING NIGHT LAST WEEK AS THE BULLDOGS BATTLED THE DEFENDING STATE CHAMPIONS…THE BOZEMAN HAWKS. THE SENIOR WIDE RECEIVER COMPLETED SEVEN CATCHES OVER 170 YARDS, AND ALSO LANDED A TOUCHDOWN FOR THE BULLDOGS. BATTERMAN WON THE BOY’S 100 METER DASH IN 11.41 SECONDS, AND HE ALSO WON THE 200 METER DASH WITH A TIME OF 23.31. THE SENIOR SPRINTER HAS ALSO SIGNED A FOOTBALL AGREEMENT WITH MONTANA WESTERN. ZACH O’CONNEL LED THE CHARGE, GOING 3-4 AT THE PLATE, SCORING TWICE, AND RACKING UP 6 RBI’S. MR. O’CONNEL ALSO ACHIEVED A COVETED HOME RUN DURING THE GAME. AFTER TRAILING BEHIND FOR MOST OF THE GAME, THE TEAM SNATCHED VICTORY FROM THE JAWS OF DEFEAT THANKS TO A LAST MINUTE BUZZER BEATER SHOT FROM HUDSON LUETKE. HUDSON PUT UP A TOTAL OF 31 POINTS AND HELPED HIS TEAM FINISH SECOND OVERALL, QUALIFYING THEM FOR THE DIVISIONAL TOURNAMENT THIS WEEKEND. DESPITE MOTHER NATURE’S BEST EFFORTS TO CANCEL THE GAMES, THE TEAM EVENTUALLY MADE IT ONTO THE FIELD, WHERE THEY PROCEEDED TO STEAL OVER 21 BASES OVER THE COURSE OF THE TOURNAMENT. 2 OF THOSE BASES WERE STOLEN BY SEAN OSSELLO, WHO ALSO BATTED .667 AND CALLED IN 2 RBI’S. Gavin Vetter
The Butte High senior placed second in the pole vault to lead the Bulldogs at the Class AA State track meet in the Gene Fogarty Complex. Vetter, a future Montana Western football player, cleared 14 feet, 3 inches, which was a personal record, to capture the silver medal. He finished 3 inches behind Helena Capital’s Alex Brisko.
Mollee Conlan
The Butte High senior ran to victory in the 100-meter dash at the Western AA Divisional meet at Missoula County Stadium. Conlan won the race with a career-best time of 12.64 seconds while running into a stiff headwind. That came a day after the future Montana Tech Oredigger ran 12.95 to qualify for the finals.
Ashlyn Burnett
The Butte High junior picked up a huge victory at No. 1 singles to lead Butte High in a dual with Missoula Big Sky. Burnett battled back from a 4-1 deficit in the first game to beat Big Sky star Brooke Williams 7-5 7-5. The victory secure Burnett the No. 2 seed at the Western AA Divisional tournament in Missoula.
Dylan Snyder
The Butte High senior won the 100-meter dash and placed third in the high jump as Butte High battled Missoula Big Sky in a Western AA Dual in Missoula. Snyder, a future Montana State football player, posted a personal-best time of 11.48 seconds in the 100. He then then matched his season-best by clearing 5 feet, 10 inches in the high jump.
Casey Kautzman
The Butte High senior captured the javelin championships at Butte Central’s John Tomich Invitational track meet at the Gene Fogarty Complex. Kautzman, who is heading to Montana State to kick for the Bobcats, launched the javelin 162 feet, 6 inches for the victory. The mark was a personal best for Kautzman, whose previous best was 150 feet.
Jordyn Bolton
The Butte High senior went 4 for 4 with five RBIs to lead the Bulldogs to a 22-3 win over Kalispell Flathead in Kalispell. The Bulldog coacher also scored two runs and blasted a home run in the win. After a slow start, Bolton is batting .367 with three home runs and 15 RBIs through 11 games.
Ashlinn Mullaney
The Butte High freshman went 3 for 4 with a pair of doubles and three RBIs as the Bulldog varsity softball team picked up its first win of the season, an 11-1 beating of Helena High in Helena. Mullaney also pitched the distance in the game that was called after five innings by the 10-run rule. She struck out four, scattered three hits and did not walk a batter.
Holt Downey
The Butte High senior posted three top-three finishes as at a meet with Missoula Hellgate, Missoula Sentinel and Butte Central in Missoula. Downey won the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 42.07 seconds. He also took second in the 110-meter hurdles and third in the 100-meter dash.

Kodie Hoagland, Tylar Clary, Brooke McGrath, Ashley Olson and Pieper Joseph
The five Butte High seniors closed their high school basketball careers at the Class AA State tournament at the Metra in Billings. While playing for first-year head coach Bryan Arntson, the Bulldogs qualified for State for the first time since 2019, thanks to a pair of gutsy loser-out wins at the divisional tournament in Helena. All five players contributed during the season that included a thrilling Senior Night overtime victory over 2021 champion Helena Capital.
Kooper Klobucar
The 6-foot-6 Butte High senior had a huge weekend to help lead the Bulldogs to the Class AA State tournament. Klobucar registered a total of 47 points and 31 rebounds in four games at the Western AA Divisional tournament in Helena. That includes 18 points and 14 rebounds in Butte High’s loser-out win over Helena Capital. The future Montana Western football player also made some key assists to help Butte High advance to Billings.
Kodie Hoagland
The Butte High senior made her final home game a memorable one. Hoagland buried a 3-poitner late in overtime as the Bulldogs rallied back to beat defending Class AA State champion Helena Capital 34-31 at the Richardson Gym. The Bulldogs outscored Capital 14-2 in the fourth quarter to force overtime as Butte High celebrated Senior Day with the huge win. Before the game, Butte High honored Hoagland and fellow seniors Brooke McGrath, Ashley Olson, Pieper Joseph and Tylar Clary.
Kenley Leary
The Butte High senior scored 20 points to lead the way as Butte High knocked off Missoula Sentinel 65-60 for a thrilling Senior Night victory at the Richardson Gym. Leary shot 4 for 9 from behind the 3-point line in the key Western AA win. He also handed out four assists. On the season, Leary is averaging 11.5 points per game.
Mason Christian
The Butte High junior captured the 182-pound championship at the MHSA State Wrestling Championships. Christian beat Noah Poe-Hatten 3-2 in the championship match to give Butte High its first individual state champion since Kameron Moreno won at 205 pounds in 2019. The state champion finished his junior season with a 23-3 record. That includes four wins at the State tournament.
Jace Stenson
The Butte High junior scored 31 points to lead Butte High to a 61-55 win over Kalispell Flathead at the Richardson Gym. Stenson buried five 3-pointers, grabbed five rebounds and handed out four assists in the victory. Only 10 Bulldogs have ever scored more points in a game. The next day, Stenson scored 13 points as Butte High fell to Kalispell Glacier.
Aydin Gonzales
The Butte High 113-pound sophomore had a big week for the Bulldog girls’ wrestling team. Gonzales, who wrestled some matches well above her weight, went 4-0 to pace the Bulldogs at the Cascade Mixer. Two days later, Gonzales picked up a 48-second pin in Butte High’s dual with Kalispell Flathead. Butte High coach Cory Johnston called Gonzales a “pillar of consistency.”
Maverick McEwen
The Butte High sophomore stepped up to 145 pounds and went 5-0 to lead Butte High to fourth place at the Montana AA Duals in Great Falls. McEwen racked up four pins and one 6-3 decision on the day that saw the Bulldogs give coach Cory Johnston his 100th dual win. Three of McEwen’s pins came in the first round.
Thad Holdsworth
The Butte High senior continued his strong season with a first- and second-place finish at the Bozeman Invitational swim meet. Holdsworth posted a career-best time while winning the 200-yard freestyle race. He placed second in the 100 breaststroke. Holdsworth also swam a leg of Butte High’s third-place finish in the 500 freestyle relay.
Kaylee LaPier
The Butte High junior won the 103-pound division to help lead Butte High’s girls’ wrestling team to second place at the Tom LeProwse Invitational in Bozeman. LaPier pinned her sister Madyson in the championship match. This year marked the first time that the storied tournament included a girls’ division.
Laura Rosenleaf
The Butte High junior scored 14 points to help lead the Bulldogs to a 52-40 win over Butte Central at the Butte Civic Center. The victory sent the Bulldogs into the holiday break at 3-0. Rosenleaf was a force inside on the victory. In addition to tying teammate Emmarie Richards for team lead in points, Rosenleaf pulled down 10 rebounds and blocked two shots.
Mason Christian
The Butte High junior went 9-0 to highlight the Bulldogs’ performance at the Pat Weede Memorial in Gillette, Wyoming. Christian’s weekend included three pins as Butte High placed second overall in the invitational-only tournament. Christian, whose walk-up song is “Why Can’t We Be Friends,” also played a huge role the week before as the Bulldogs took second at the Mining City Duals/Jim Street Classic.
Kyler Raiha
The Butte High senior went 7-0 in the 120-pound division to help lead the Bulldogs to the championship match of the Mining City Duals/Jim Street Classic for the first time since 2003. Raiha wasted little time in stacking up his victories, too. Six of his wins came by way of the pin, including four in the first round. Raiha was honored as the 120-pounder on the all-tournament team.
Butte High Volleyball Team
The Bulldogs overcame a slow start to close the 2021 season at the Class AA State tournament in Bozeman. Butte High won 6 of 8 matches down the stretch to qualify for State for the third time in four years. The team was led by seniors Mollee Conlan, Olivia Quinn, Teagan Kennis, Katie Keller, Brooke McGrath, Kennadie McMahon, Jordyn Bolton, Ashley Olson and Joscelyn Cleveland.
Ashley Olson
The Butte High senior middle blocker saved her best for last to help the Bulldogs qualify for the Class AA State volleyball tournament.
In four matches at the Western AA Divisional tournament in Kalispell, Olson tallied 29 kills to help lead the Bulldogs to fourth place. That includes 11 kills in the tournament-opening win over Kalispell Glacier.
Mollee Conlan
The Bulldog senior has been a force for the Butte High volleyball team, which closed the regular season with four straight victories.
That streak includes a four-set victory at Helena Capital that saw Conlan match the school record with 10 blocks in a match. She now shares the top spot with 2020 graduate Kira Mortensen.
Brooke McGrath
The Butte High senior served eight aces as the Bulldogs made short work of Missoula Big Sky with a Western AA sweep in Missoula. McGrath is also a force for the Bulldogs at the net and in the back-court. In a Senior Night sweep of Missoula Hellgate earlier in the week, McGrath registered seven kills and a team-leading 12 digs.
Jace Stenson
The junior quarterback passed for a career-high 308 yards and three touchdowns as Butte High secured a home playoff game with a 30-27 victory at Missoula Hellgate. His game-winning touchdown pass to Gurnsey came on fourth down late in the fourth quarter. Stenson also threw scoring strikes to Dylan Snyder and Gavin Vetter. On the season, Stenson has passed for 1,200 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Keegen Muffich
The Butte High senior linebacker registered 11 tackles to lead an inspired Bulldog defense in a crucial Western AA victory over Kalispell Glacier at Naranche Stadium. Muffich also notched a tackle for the loss in the victory that clinched a playoff berth for the Bulldogs. Through seven games, Muffich leads the Bulldogs with 70 total tackles. He has six tackles for a loss, one sack and two forced fumbles.
Jack Prigge and Kodie Hoagland
A week after winning individual titles at the Western AA Divisional in Missoula a week earlier, the Bulldog golfers had strong showings at the State tournament in Bozeman.
Prigge, a junior, matched par each day at Cottonwood Hills Golf Club to place third on the boys’ side. He finished only behind Gallatin seniors Justus and Jordan Verge.
Hoagland, a senior, took second on girls’ side to earn All-State honors for the fourth straight year. She won three tournaments in her final season as a Bulldog.
Casey Kautzman
The Butte High senior broke the school record with a 51-yard field goal in Butte High’s 24-0 win at Missoula Big Sky. Kautzman’s boot broke the record of 50 yards shared by Matt Berg and Jon Jourdonnais. On the season, Kautzman is 17 for 17 on PATs and 5 for 6 on field goals. Kautzman is Butte High’s career leader with 118 extra points, and he is just three kicks shy of tying Berg for the all-time Bulldog record in field goals with 17.
Dylan Snyder
The Butte High senior visited the end zone at Legends Stadium four times as Butte High rolled to a 48-7 win over Kalispell Flathead. Snyder caught three first half touchdowns from Jace Stenson to help the Bulldogs build a 34-0 lead. Then he returned the opening kickoff of the second half 89 yards for a score. Snyder, who is also a standout on the defensive side, caught four passes for 47 yards.
Kodie Hoagland
The Butte High senior topped a strong field of golfers to win Butte High’s Fairmont Invitational at Fairmont Hot Springs. Hoagland shot a 6-over-par 78 on each day of the two-day tournament for a six-shot victory. The win was Hoagland’s second as a high school player. She won the 2020 Western AA Divisional tournament on the same course. She has placed in the top five of all four tournaments this season.
Cameron Gurnsey
The Butte High junior receiver hauled in 11 passes for 129 yards to help lead Butte High to a 17-7 victory over Great Falls High. Gurnsey went up high to make a ridiculous catch on a 49-yard reception from Jace Stenson. Through two games, the 6-foot-2, 185-pound Gurnsey has already racked up 20 catches for 255 yards and a touchdown.

Tanner Huff
The Butte High senior had a weekend for the ages at the Class AA State track meet in Missoula. Huff brought home four gold medals to lead Butte High to its first second-place finish at State since 2007. Huff became the first Bulldog to win the 100 and 200 since Dalton Daum in 2015. Also, Huff ran a leg in each race as Butte High won the 400- and 1,600-meter relays.
Ashlyn Burnett
The Butte High sophomore placed third in the girls’ singles division of the Western AA Divisional tennis tournament in Missoula. Burnett won three matches on the final day of the tournament to qualify for the Class AA State tournament in Great Falls. She is the lone Bulldog to qualify for State.
Holt Downey
The Butte High junior had a huge day in the hurdles as Butte High closed the regular season with a dual against Missoula Hellgate in Missoula. Downey won the 119neter hurdles with a personal-best time of 16.51 seconds. He then won the 300 hurdles with a time of 43.2 seconds.
Aubree Corcoran
The Butte High senior outfield went 3 for 4 to lead the way as the Bulldogs overcame a 5-0 deficit for a 15-5 Senior Day win over Bozeman at Stodden Park. Corcoran’s big day included a pair of home runs and five runs batted in. That performance came two days after Corcoran went 5 for 8 in a doubleheader at Helena Capital.
Christian Hansen
The Butte High senior won the long jump at the Western AA Top 10 meet in Missoula with an eye-popping leap of 22 feet, 4 inches. Hansen’s jump won the competition by a foot and a half. It was also the third-best jump in Butte High history. Only Scott Hemmert’s 22-11 and Marco Stanischi’s 22-5 ½ are better. Hemmert set the record in 1989, while Stanisich set his mark in 1958.
Christian Vetter
The Butte High senior won the 100- and 200-meter races as the Bulldog boys battled to a tie with Helena Capital in a dual in Helena. Vetter won the 100 with a state qualifying time of 11.19 seconds. The future Montana Tech football player then put up a personal-record of 23.05 seconds to win the 200
Tanner Huff
The Butte High senior won three events to lead the Bulldog boys to a win in a track meet that included Missoula Sentinel and Butte Central. Huff, a future Montana Western football player, won the javelin along with the 100- and 200-meter races. With a time of 11.29 seconds in the 100, Huff beat the Class AA State qualifying mark for the second time this season.
Anna Trudnowski
The Butte High senior had a great week to open the track season. Trudnowski won the 100-meter hurdles and high jump in a meet in Helena. Three days later, the future Montana State Bobcat won the high jump in Butte. She matched her personal-record by clearing 5 feet, 5 inches in both high jump victories. She also placed second in the long jump and third in the 100 hurdles.
Ayrika Gerry and Abby Ricketts
The Butte High doubles team went 2-0 against Billings Skyview and Billings Senior to open the tennis season in Great Falls. Both seniors, Gerry and Ricketts beat opponents from Billings Skyview in Straight sets before knocking off a team from Billings Senior in an 11-9 tiebreaker.
Billy “The Kid” Kelly
The Butte High senior guard helped lead Butte High to its first win in the Class AA State tournament since 2007. Kelly scored 20 points as the Bulldogs knocked off Billings Senior 63-62 in a loser-out game. Through three tournament games in Great Falls, Kelly led the Bulldogs with 47 total points.
Trey Whitlock
The Butte High junior captured second place at 103 pounds at the Class AA State wrestling tournament in Kalispell. Whitlock racked up three pins on the tournament before dropping a decision to Keyan Hernandez of Billings West in the title match. A year ago, Whitlock placed sixth at State in the same weight class.
Cael Stenson
The Butte High senior had a big performance to make sure the Bulldogs get one more game at home. Stenson scored 12 of his 15 points in the first half as Butte High jumped out fast and went wire to wire for a shocking win over previously unbeaten Missoula Sentinel in Butte. The win locked up a home playoff game for the Bulldogs.
Hayla Hoffman
The Butte High sophomore captured second place at the inaugural MHSA Girls’ State Championships wrestling tournament in Lockwood. Hoffman punned Kalispell Flathead’s Boston Howell in double overtime to advance to the championship match. Later in the day, Hoffman dropped a thrilling 11-10 battle to Baker’s Sophia Dulin.
Billy “The Kid” Kelly
The Bulldog senior guard returned from quarantine and scored a total of 36 points as Butte High boys’ basketball team beat Kalispell Glacier and Kalispell Flathead. Kelly scored 19 points to lead the Bulldogs to a 60-52 home win over Glacier. Two days later, he followed up with 17 points in a 60-49 win at Flathead. Kelly is averaging 13 points per game on the season.
Kodie Hoagland
The Butte High junior came off the bench to score a career-high 16 points in Butte High’s 52-49 overtime victory at Helena High. Hoagland, who sank four 3-pointers, scored all scored 13 of her points in the fourth quarter and overtime. She scored five of Butte’s six overtime points to help the shorthanded Bulldogs get back in the win column.
Zach Merrifield
The Butte High senior hit four 3-pointers and scored 14 points — all in the first half — to spark Butte High’s 71-49 win over Missoula Big Sky at the Richardson Gym. That Merrifield even played at is a big story for the Bulldogs. Merrifield returned to the Bulldogs this season after missing all of his junior campaign because of a gruesome leg injury. He is still dealing complications from the broken leg suffered in June of 2019.
Hayla Hoffman
The Butte High sophomore ran her record to 5-0 with a pair of wins last week. Hoffman picked up a victory in Butte High’s first-ever girls’ dual, topping her Billings Senior counterpart by technical fall. The next day she won again in a mixer in Kalispell. Hoffman is the No. 1 ranked girls’ wrestler at 170 pounds.
Jake Olson
The Butte High senior scored 10 of his 25 points in the fourth quarter as Butte High beat Kalispell Flathead 77-74 at the Richardson Gym. The game marked the first time Butte High scored more than 70 points in a regulation victory since 2014. The 6-foot-8 Olson signed to play football for the University of Montana in December.
Kyler Raiha
The Butte High junior 120-pound wrestler picked up three victories in Butte High’s first three dual wins of the season. Raiha, who is ranked No. 2 at his weight in the Class AA, pinned all three of his opponents from Missoula Hellgate, Helena Capital and Helena High. That includes pins of two ranked opponents.
Banner Cetraro
The Butte High senior is signing this week to play football at Montana Tech. The signing comes after Cetraro missed all but one game of the 2020 season with an illness. Even though he could not play, Cetraro still went to practice each day to help lead the Bulldogs. In 2019, Cetraro led Butte High receivers with seven touchdowns and an average of 17.7 yards per catch.
Bulldogs Offensive Line
Butte High’s offensive line was a force for the Bulldogs all season, especially over the final month. Led by sophomore Zach Tierney and seniors Aidan Lee, Ty Raiha, Timmy Hollingsworth, D.J. Jackson and Rylan Ruscheinsky, the Bulldogs amassed 997 yards rushing over the last four games. Even though he missed most of the season with an injury, senior Nick Steilman was also a leader for Butte High’s big men.
Hannah Morin-Ferguson, Mackenzie Tutty And Kelly White
If Saturday turns out to be the last time Butte High’s only seniors play volleyball at home, then they went out with a bang. Morin-Ferguson, Tutty and White helped lead the Bulldogs to a convincing sweep of Kalispell Flathead in the Ross J. Richardson Memorial Gym. Morin-Ferguson and Tutty have been powerful forces for the Bulldogs at the net all season long. White has contributed as a defensive specialist.
Blake Drakos
The Butte High senior quarterback had a hand in four touchdowns to help lead Butte High to 51-33 Western AA victory over Missoula Big Sky at Naranche Stadium. Drakos tossed two touchdowns to Cameron Gurnsey and one to Christian Vetter. He also scrambled eight years and dove in for another touchdown. The quarterback has thrown for seven touchdowns over Butte High’s three-game winning streak.
Christian & Gavin Vetter
The Vetter brothers combined to run for 252 yards to help lead Butte High to a 42-13 road win over Kalispell Flathead. Christian Vetter, a senior, ran for 161 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries. He scored on runs of 3 and 4 yards as the Bulldogs jumped out to a 21-0 lead. Gavin Vetter, a junior, added 91 yards on eight carries. The Vetter brothers have been a powerful 1-2 punch for the Bulldogs all season long.
Christian Hansen
The Butte High senior scooped a blocked field goal by teammate Jake Olson and raced 71 yards for a touchdown as Butte High rallied from a 13-0 deficit for a 20-13 victory over Helena Capital at Vigilante Stadium. Even without the touchdown, Hansen had a huge game. He deflected a handful of passes to lead an inspired Butte High defensive effort in the Bulldogs’ first win of the season.
The Bulldogs Girl’s Golf Team
The Bulldogs won the inaugural Western AA Divisional golf title at a windy and chilly Fairmont Hot Springs Golf Course, and they made it look easy. Butte High beat second-place Helena Capital by 64 shots in the two-day tournament. Junior Kodie Hoagland claimed medalist honors, while senior Ella Prigge placed second. Other Bulldogs to contribute this season are Kennedy Lean, MacKenzie Finnegan, Megan Savage and Nacole Sestrich.
Hailey Neilson
The Butte High senior won the girls’ A cross country race at the Missoula Hellgate Quads at the Linda Vista Golf Course. Nielson, who recently signed to run cross country and track at Montana Tech, posted a season-best time of 19 minutes, 36 seconds in the 5-kilometer race. She beat her nearest competitor by 13 seconds.
Ella Prigge and Kodie Koagland
The Butte High golfers continued their strong season by tying for second place at a tournament hosted by the Bulldogs at Fairmont Hot Spring. Prigge, a senior, and Hoagland, a junior, each shot an 80 to finish two shots behind Bozeman’s Cooper Knarr. Prigge and Hoagland also helped lead Butte High to third-place finishes at the last two Class AA State tournaments.
Isen Padbury
A hat trick by the Butte High senior captain led the Bulldog boys’ soccer team to its first win since 2018. Padbury scored all three goals as the Bulldogs knocked off Missoula Big Sky 3-0 in a Western AA match in Missoula. James Dare and Colton Case each assisted on a Padbury goal. Another goal was unassisted.
Aydin Gonzales
The freshman made one of the best debuts in the history of Butte High School. Gonzalez scored a goal in the second minute of her first game as Butte High opened the season at home against Kalispell Flathead. Gonzalez’s goal, which came on an assist from Emma Quist, gave the Bulldogs a brief lead backed up coach Jacob Steilman’s optimistic outlook for the team.

Senior Spotlight
Peyton Hettick
Hettick was an unsung hero on Butte High’s electrifying football team in 2019. The tight end caught 33 passes for 481 yards and four touchdowns as a senior. He ranked second on the team in receptions, third in yards and tied for fourth in touchdowns. Hettick was also an accomplished baseball player and a state champion racquetball player.
Lexia Dauenhauer
Lexia Dauenhauer was a fixture on the Butte High girls’ soccer team since her freshman season. She earned four varsity letters while playing multiple positions. Dauenhauer was also known as a leader who was always looking for ways to improve the team and lead by example. A four-time Academic All-State player, Dauenhauer plans to study biological engineering at Montana State University.
Lucas Kingston
Kingston was one of the key members of Butte High’s 11-1 team in 2019. He earned All-State honors while playing left guard for the Bulldogs as a junior and senior. An Academic All-State player, Kingston was also a force on the defensive line for the Bulldogs. Kingston, an alternate for the Montana East-West Shrine Game, signed to play football for Montana Tech, either on the offensive or defensive line.
Christian Sherman
The “Shermanator” was a three-sport standout for the Bulldogs. He earned Block B status by earning seven varsity letters — three in soccer, three in wrestling and one in track. He was a top contender to win the Class AA State wrestling title at 113 pounds as a senior before suffering a broken elbow at the Rocky Mountain Classic, Jan. 17 in Missoula.
Grace McGrath
McGrath was a major contributor for Butte High’s basketball and volleyball teams for multiple seasons. As a Junior, McGrath helped lead the Bulldogs to the Class AA State Tourment. Following her Senior season, the selfless McGrath was named the team’s best defensive player. In volleyball, she shared the top offensive award with classmate Emma Field.
Scout Allen
The diminutive safety was the heart and soul of Butte High’s defense, leading the 2019 team with 106 total tackles during the Bulldogs’ run to the Class AA State Title game. Of those tackles, 75 were solo. Allen also represented Butte High three times at the State Wrestling meet. He placed fourth at 138 pounds as a senior. Overall, Allen lettered four times in wrestling and three times in football.
Danika Murphy
Danika Murphy competed in three sports for the Bulldogs, and she leaves Butte High as a State Champion. Murphy earned that distinction by swimming a leg of Butte High’s 200-yard freestyle relay team along with Anna Trudnowski, Kallie Hossack and Catherine Russo. Murphy earned block B distinction with four letters in track to go along with two letters in cross country and swimming.
Konor McClafferty
The 6-foot-7, 230-pound left tackle protected Tommy Mellott’s blind side and helped pave the way for the Moreno brothers’ touchdown runs. He was leader of an offense that racked up 527 points and more than 6,000 yards in 12 games. McClafferty, a future Montana Tech Oredigger, earned first-team all-state honors, and was selected to play in the Montana East-West Shrine Game, which was canceled due to Covid.
Trisha Ericson
Ericson was a three-sport standout and an all-out gamer for four years at Butte High School. She helped lead the Bulldog volleyball team to its first trip to the Class AA state tournament in 13 years. Her hard-nosed style also played out well for the Bulldogs in basketball and softball. Ericson was a four-year letter winner and played in State Tournaments in each sport.
Quinn Sullivan
Quinn Sullivan will go down as one of the most well-rounded athletes to ever walk the hallways of Butte High. In addition to earning 11 varsity letters — three in football and four each in wrestling and track — Sullivan is also an accomplished bowler and a star baseball player. Sullivan will take his talents to Minot State to play football for the Beavers.
Catherine Russo
In her four years at Butte High, Russo only competed in one event. Boy, did she turn that into a memorable career, however. Russo won eight individual state swimming championships in four years, sweeping the titles in 50-yard freestyle and the 100 butterfly all four years. The Butte High valedictorian and future Ohio State Buckeye qualified for the 2020 U.S. Swim Team Trials, which were pushed back to 2021.
Tommy Mellott
Mellott will go down as one of the greatest Bulldogs in history. He is the first Butte High boy to earn 12 varsity letters, taking the honor in track, basketball and football. It is football where Mellott became a legend. Mellott started at quarterback for three seasons for the Bulldogs. As a senior, he was named Class AA Offensive MVP and the Gatorade Montana Football Player of the Year.
Haley Herron
Herron was a three-sport force for the Bulldogs from the second she walked through the doors of Butte High. Competing in soccer, volleyball and track, Herron will Join Anna Fabatz, Natalee Faupel, and Ally Cleverly as the only Butte High girls to graduate with 12 varsity letters. Herron played in 85 varsity games for the Bulldogs. Only Lexie Nelson, Joey O’Neill and Kalli Mccloskey played in more.
Kameron and Kobe Moreno
The Moreno brothers brought talent, toughness and fun in three sports for the Bulldogs, standing out in football, wrestling and track. Kameron has the 205-pound 2019 state title on his résumé. Both twins placed in the top four at state as seniors. The brothers were key parts of the Bulldogs’ run to the 2019 title game in football. They will take their football talents to Montana Tech.
Makenna Carpener
For three years, Carpenter was a key contributor for the Butte High basketball team. Known for her big shots, Carpenter’s biggest during her Junior Season. Carpenter sank an 18-foot jumper with 4 seconds left to lift the Bulldogs to a 48-46 win over previously unbeaten Billings West at the Civic Center. Carpenter also contributed in volleyball and softball. She went out for the track team this spring before the lockdown hit.
Tucker Winston
For four years, Tucker Winston has been an unselfish contributor to the Butte High football and track programs. If the spring season were to be held, Winston would quickly earn his fourth varsity letter in track for the Bulldogs. Winston also lettered three times in football for Butte. A receiver, Winston helped lead Butte High to the Class AA state championship football game.
Kira Mortensen
Mortensen quickly made a name for herself as a freshman at Butte High School. Last month Mortensen signed to play volleyball for NCAA Division III power California Lutheran. Mortensen contributed on the Butte High volleyball and basketball teams as a freshman, sophomore and junior. As a sophomore and a junior, Mortensen was named Butte High’s offensive player of the year. She earned Academic All-State four years in volleyball and all three years she played basketball. In the spring, Mortensen was a contender in the high jump. A healthy spring would have likely led to a trip to the Class AA State meet.

Makenna Carpenter, Tommy Mellot, Jake Olson, and Haley Herron!
The Montana Class AA All-State and All-Conference Basketball teams for the 2019-2020 season were released to the media, and four Butte High players made the grade. Seniors Haley Herron and Makenna Carpenter took home honors on the girl’s side, while Senior Tommy Mellott and Junior Jake Olson received accolades for the boys. The teams were selected by a vote of Eastern AA and Western AA coaches and compiled by Class AA statistician Lowell Peterson. Herron and Carpenter were both named second-team all conference in the Western AA. That came after Herron averaged 9.8 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. Carpenter, who hit on 44 attempts from 3-point range, averaged 9.7 points and 4.8 rebounds. The duo helped lead Butte High’s inspired run in the Western AA Divisional Tournament that ended up shy of the State Tournament. Mellott and Olson each received an all-conference honorable mention after helping lead the Bulldogs to the Class AA State Tournament for the first time since 2013. Olson averaged 11.7 points and 6.2 rebounds per game for the Bulldogs. Mellott missed the team’s first four games before returning to average 6.8 points and 4.3 rebounds. Jake Olson
The Butte High Junior scored a total of 21 point while pulling down 15 rebounds to lead the Bulldogs in two games at the Class AA State Tournament in Bozeman. Olson scored 15 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in Butte High’s season-ending loss to Helena Capitol. Congratulations to this weeks athlete of the week Jake Olson.
Butte High Boys Basketball Team
The Bulldogs placed fourth at the Western A Divisionals Tournament in Missoula to secure a trip to the Class AA State Tournament in Bozeman. Butte High beat Kalispell Glacier 62-48 in a loser-out game Saturday morning at Missoula Hellgate. That win secured the Bulldogs a trip to state for the first time since 2013. The Bulldogs open the tournament at 1:30 PM against Billings Skyview. Congratulations Butte High Boys Basketball team.
McCaul McCarthy
The Butte High junior scored seven points in Butte High’s regular season ending loss at high-powered Missoula Sentinel. McCarthy also played tough defense, showing off the all-out intensity that has been her trademark as a Bulldog. Congratulations McCaul McCarthy!
Makenna Carpenter!
The Butte High Senior sank four 3-pointers and scored 15 points to lead the Bulldogs in a tough loss to Western AA power Missoula Hellgate. The game marked the sixth time in 10 games that Carpenter led the Bulldogs in scoring. Congratulations Makenna Carpenter!
Butte High Girl’s Swim Team
Coach Lynn Shrader’s Bulldogs captured the third-place trophy at the state swimming meet in Great Falls. Senior Catherine Russo led the way, winning state titles in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly for the fourth straight year. She also teamed with senior Danika Murphy and juniors Anna Trudnonoski and Kallie Hossack to win the state title in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Congratulations to the Butte High Girl’s Swim Team.
Trisha Ericson
The Butte High Senior guard scored a total of 22 points to lead Butte High in a pair of Western AA games against the Helena schools. Ericson scored 11 points to help lead the Bulldogs to a 51-46 win over defending State Champion Helena High at the Butte Civic Center. She then scored 11 points as Butte High fell to then-unbeaten Helena Capital two nights later in Helena. Congratulations to Trisha Ericson, this week’s athlete of the week!
Kameron Moreno
Three days after going undefeated at the class AA duals in Great Falls, the Butte High Senior pinned Bozeman’s Jake D’Agostino in 2 minutes, 42 seconds to cling the Bulldogs’ Senior Night victory over the Hawks. Moreno, the defending class AA state champion at 205 pounds, has been posting victories at three weight classes for Butte High this season. Congratulations to Kameron Moreno, this week’s athlete of the week!
Haley Herron
The Butte High Senior scored scored 15 points and pulled down nine rebounds to lead Butte High as the Bulldogs’ upset bid against high-powered Missoula Hellgate fell short. Herron, a four-year contributor, is averaging 13.1 points and 7.9 rebounds on the season.
Makenna Carpenter
The Butte High Senior scored a career high 20 points to lead the way as the Bulldogs rolled to a 67-39 road victory over Kalispell Flathead. Carpenter, a three-year varsity contributor, connected on five 3-point shots on the night.
Kobe Moreno
Despite giving up about 70 pounds to his opponent, the Butte High Senior pinned Tommy Leonard of Missoula Big Sky in 2 minutes, 49 seconds in the final match of the Bulldogs’ thrilling 33-30 home win over the Eagles. Moreno is off to a solid senior season after missing his entire junior campaign with a knee injury.
Jake Olson
The Butte High Junior scored 26 points to help the Bulldogs overcome a 10-point deficit for the 66-53 win over Missoula Big Sky. The 6-foot-8 Olson has scored in double figures in each of Butte High’s first five games. he is averaging 19 points per game.
MacKenzie Tutty
The Butte High Junior poured in a career-high 19 points to lead the Bulldogs to a 50-24 win over Butte Central at the Butte Civic Center. Tutty hit three 3-point shots in the win. She also pulled down seven rebounds.
Catherine Russo
The Butte High Senior celebrated Senior Parents Day by swimming to a pair of victories in the Butte Invitational at the YMCA. The future Ohio State Buckeye posted easy wins in the 50-yard freestyle and the 100 butterfly. Russo won the butterfly by almost 6 full seconds over the second place finisher. A week earlier, Russo competed at the Toyota U.S. Open in Atlanta
Kameron Moreno
The Butte High Senior running back ran for 153 yards and two touchdowns to help lead the Bulldogs to a 35-6 win over Billings West in the semifinals of the Class AA football playoffs. Heading into the championship game, Moreno has racked up 1,278 yards. His 20 touchdowns is tied for a school record with Jim Bertoglio, who scored 20 times in 1923, and Jordan Clary, who matched it in 2004.
The Butte High Volleyball Team
The Bulldogs qualified for the Class AA State volleyball tournament for the first time since 2006 with an exciting four-set victory over Kalispell Glacier in Kalispell. The Bulldogs, winners of six of their last seven matches, beat the Wolfpack to book the trip to Bozeman. A few days later, the team donned Santa hats at Walmart and encouraged shoppers to donate to the Salvation Army’s national toy drive.
Sydney Doyle and Grace McGrath
The Butte High Senior setters combined for 34 assists as the Bulldogs celebrated Senior Night with a three set win over Missoula Sentinel. Doyle served up 18 assists, while McGrath dished up 16. Doyle also collected five digs in the victory and McGrath served three Aces.
Emma Field
The Butte High Senior spiked a total of 22 kills to help lead Butte High to home victories over Kalispell Glacier and Kalispell Flathead. Field pounded 13 kills as the surging Bulldogs swept the Wolfpack in three sets on Friday. A day later, Field tallied nine kills in Butte High’s balanced attack that led to a four-set win over the Bravettes. Field also registered five total blocks in the two victories.
Scout Allen
The Bulldog Senior safety once again led Butte High in tackles as the Bulldogs stayed unbeaten with a win at Missoula Big Sky. In the win, Allen registered an eight total tackles, seven of which were solo. Through eight games, Allen has racked up a team-leading 62 total tackles. That includes 45 solo take downs.
The Butte High Girls’ Golf Team
The Bulldogs captured the third-place trophy at the Class AA State tournament for the second straight season. This year, they brought the hardware home from a snowy and cold Great Falls. Senior Grace Luoma, Juniors Kennedy Lean and Ella Prigge and Sophomore Kodie Hoagland were part of the 2018 team. Junior MacKenzie Finnegan was new to the varsity squad this year. Hoagland, Prigge and Luoma earned All-State honors by placing in the top 15 at the state tournament.
Bulldog Offensive Line
Butte High’s football team is off to a 6-0 start for the first time since 1991, and that is due in large part to Butte High’s men up front. The unit is made up of Ty Raiha, Konor McClafferty, D.J. Jackson, Lucas Kingston and Timothy Hollingsworth. Along with tight ends Jacob Olson and Peyton Hettick, the Bulldog line has paved the way for a Bulldog rushing attack that has racked up 1,520 yards so far this season.
Casey Kautzman
The Butte High Sophomore kicker booted at 37-yard field goal as time expired to give the No. 2 Bulldogs a 38-36 win over No. 2 Missoula Sentinel at a rainy Missoula County Stadium. The win lifted Butte High to a 5-0 on the season. The game-winning kick was the second field goal of the season for Kautzman, who also drilled a 43-yard field goal at Great Falls Russell.
Tommy Mellott
The Butte High Senior quarterback had a hand in five touchdowns as the Bulldogs rolled their record to 4-0 with a 55-28 win at Kalispell Glacier. Mellott threw touchdowns to our different receivers, while passing for 298 yards. He also ran for 124 yards and a touchdown. Through four games, Mellott has 14 touchdowns through the air and two on the ground.
Hailey Neilson
The Butte High Junior ran to her first varsity victory, winning the Butte Central Invitational on the Fairmont Hot Springs Golf Course. Four days later, Neilson improved on that time and placed 15th at the crowded Bozeman Invitational.
2018-2019 SCHOOL YEAR
Anna Trudnowski
The Butte High Sophomore matched a personal record by clearing 5 feet, 5 inches in the high jump at the Class AA State track meet in Kalispell. Trudnowski tied for first but took second after a nine-jump jump off. She also took fifth in the 300-meter hurdles.
Aidan Francisco and Russell Park
The Butte High Seniors made a long run at the Class AA State tennis tournament in Great Falls. Park and Francisco bounced back from a first-round loss to reach the quarterfinals of the consolation bracket before bowing out of the tournament. “They had a great run”, Butte High coach Dorothy Joyce said.
McCaul McCarthy
The Butte High Sophomore registered her first varsity no-hitter to highlight the Bulldogs’ doubleheader sweep at Bozeman. McCarthy struck out seven Hawks to pick up an 11-1 Eastern AA victory.
Tommy Mellott
The Butte High Junior won the 100 meters and long jump at Butte Central’s John Tomich Invitational Track Meet. Mellott jumped 20 feet, 7 inches to win the high jump. He won the 100 with a time of 11.29 seconds. Mellott also ran a leg of Butte High’s first-place 400 meter relay team.
Taylor Huff
The Butte High Senior short stop went 7 for 13 with a home run and eight RBIs in four games against West and Skyview in Billings. That includes a grand slam and six-RBI game against West.
Bradie Lester
The Butte High Junior second baseman went 3 for 4 with a home run to lead Butte High to a 7-3 non-conference win over Helena High in Helena. The home run was the first of the season for Lester.
Butte High Girls’ Basketball Team
The Bulldogs placed second at the Eastern AA Divisional tournament in Great Falls, earning Butte High its first appearance in the Class AA State tournament. The Bulldogs will take a 16-5 record into the state tournament at the Butte Civic Center.
Tommy Mellott
The Butte High Junior came off the bench to score 27 points to lead Butte High to a 72-65 double-overtime win at Billings Senior. The radio play-by-play announcer referred to Mellott as “Superman” late in Butte High’s victory.
Clay Ferguson
The Butte High Senior scored a total of 32 points in Butte High’s weekend homestand. That includes a 20-point performance in Butte High’s double-overtime battle with Billings West. Ferguson is averaging a team-best 13.9 points per game.
Kameron Moreno
The Butte High Junior wrestler captured the state championship at 205 pounds at the state tournament in Billings. Moreno, who placed sixth at 182 pounds as a Sophomore, finished the 2018-19 season with a 35-4 record.
Scout Allen
The Butte High Junior wrestler came back just in time from a broken leg to place third at 126 pounds at the Eastern AA seeding tournament in Bozeman. Allen, who hadn’t wrestled since suffering the injury at the CMR Holiday Classic in December, will be one of 16 Bulldogs wrestling at state.
Aspen Lovshin
The Butte High Senior guard scored a total of 32 points to lead Butte High School to wins over both Great Falls High and CMR. The wins ran Butte High’s winning streak to 8 consecutive wins.
Makenna Carpenter
The Butte High Junior sank and 18-foot jump shot with 4 seconds left as Butte High beat previously unbeaten Billings West 48-46 at the Butte Civic Center. The thrilling victory extended Butte High’s winning streak to six games. It also gave the Bulldogs sole possession of first place in the Eastern AA.
Ally Cleverly
The Butte High Senior scored 22 points to lead the Bulldogs to their third straight win, a 56-39 victory at Great Falls High. Cleverly sank four 3-pointers to score at least 20 points for the second time this season.
Aspen Lovshin
The Butte High Senior guard led four Bulldogs in double figures in a 68-35 win at Missoula Big Sky.. The 5-foot 4 Lovshin poured in a career-high 17 points in the no-doubt victory.
Keagan Gransbery
The Butte High Sophomore 103-pounder went 6-0 to lead Butte High at the Mining City Duals Jim Street Classic Wrestling tournament. The performance continued Gransbery’s unbeatedn streak to start the season, and it earned him a spot on the all-tournament team.

The Butte High Senior had a huge season for the Bulldogs on both sides of the ball. In addition being a key target in the Bulldog passing game, McCarthy also picked off three passes on defense. His pick 6 to cap Butte High’s Senior Night win was one of the highlights of Bulldog playoff season.
Kira Mortensen and Emma Field
The Butte High 6-foot-2 Juniors each spiked 13 kills to lead Butte High in a marathon five-set loss to Bozeman. Mortensen also blocked four shots and Field blocked three and a half in the match that saw four sets go extra points.
Kash Kelly
The Butte High Senior hauled in five passes for 94 yards and two touchdowns to help lead Butte High to a 56-13 Senior Night win over Billings Skyview. After catching an 11-yard touchdown pass from Junior Tommy Mellott, Kelly put the Bulldogs up for good by scoring on a 68-yard reception.
The Bulldog Offensive Line
Konor McClafferty, Lucas Kingston, Ryan McCarthy, Ty Raiha and Kyle Harding paved the way as Butte High knocked off Great Falls High 28-14 on Silver B’s Night. With the big men leading the way, the Bulldogs racked up 250 yards rushing.
Carl Anderson
The Butte High Senior Inside Linebacker is the heart and soul of the Bulldog defense. Anderson leads the team in tackles. He has also picked of a pass and recovered a pair of fumbles. When something good happens for the Butte High defense, No. 37 is usually right in the mix.
Jake Vetter
The Butte High Senior led Butte High with an impressive time of 17 minutes, 31 seconds to lead the Bulldog runners at the Mountain West Classic in Missoula. Vetter then raced home to play a strong second half for the Butte High soccer team.
Kameron Moreno
The Butte High Junior scored on a 3 yard run and then punched in the game-winning 2 point conversion in Butte High’s 39-38 overtime Homecoming victory over Missoula Sentinel. The overtime touchdown was the second of the game for Moreno, who was also a force on the Butte High defense.
Brittney Tierney
The Butte High Senior libero led the Bulldogs to a 2-1 record during the week. Butte High beat CMR in five sets and Dillon in four before falling to perennial power Billings Senior in five sets. Tierney tallied 47 digs in three matches, including 29 in the win over CMR.
Tommy Mellott
The Butte High Junior quarterback racked up 476 yards of total offense to lead the Bulldogs in a 37-27 loss at Helena Capital. Mellott ran for 142 yards and three touchdowns. He added 334 yards and a score through the air.

Cole Walker
The Butte High Senior captured the Eastern AA Divisional javelin title at the Gene Fogarty Complex in Butte. Walker won the meet and booked a trip to the Class AA State meet by launching the javelin a personal-best 171 feet, 10 inches.
Destine Soennichsen and Keeley Porchervina
The Butte High Senior duo placed third in double at the Southern AA Divisional tennis tournament and will represent Butte High at the Class AA State meet in Kalispell. This marks the second straight season Soennichsen will compete at State. Porchervina will be making her first appearance.
Cameron Cassidy
The Butte High Senior won a pair of matches to advance to the semifinals in the No. 1 singles tournament of the Helena Invitational. The meet is the final before the Bulldogs head to the divisional tournament in Bozeman.
Ty Peterson
The Butte High Senior broke a 31 year old school record by clearing 15 feet, 3 inches to win the pole vault at the Russ Pilcher Western Montana Top 10 meet in Missoula. Four days later, Peterson cleared 13-6 in the wind to win the John Tomich Invitational title.
Brittney Tierney
The Butte High Junior hit three home runs in four games as the Bulldogs won three times in Billings. Butte High split with Billings Senior before taking two from Billings West. Tierney is tied with Taylor Huff for the team lead with three home runs.

Lathan Ricketts
Ricketts was the lone senior on the Butte High boys’ basketball team which saw its season end with a loss to Billings Skyview at the Eastern A Divisional tournament. Ricketts closed his career by sinking a deep 3-pointer during the fourth quarter of Butte High’s comeback attempt in the season-ending loss.
Brittney Tierney
The Butte High Junior scored 13 points to lead Butte High to a Senior Night win over Billings Skyview. Tierney’s relentless defense also held Skyview’s top scorer to just five points
Trevyn Roth
The Butte High Junior hit six 3-pointers and scored 18 points to lead Butte High as the Bulldogs fell 59-56 to Billings Senior. A night earlier, Roth scored 10 points against Billings West.
Gabe Tierney
The Butte High Senior placed second at 120 pounds to lead Butte High at the All-Class State Wrestling meet in billings. Tierney dropped a thrilling 4-3 decision to Bozeman’s Sterling Quinn in the championship match.
Clay Ferguson
The Butte High Junior guard scored a career-high 25 points to lead Butte High to an upset victory over Bozeman at Richardson Gym. Three nights later, Ferguson set a new personal record with 28 points in a tough loss to Billings Skyview at the Butte Civic Center.
Riley Walsh
On Senior Parent Day, the Butte High Senior swimmer placed fourth in the 200-yard freestyle and fifth in the 50 fre at the Butte High School Montana Classic. Walsh posted personal-best times in both races at the Butte Family YMCA.
Clay Ferguson
The Butte High Junior scored a total of 32 points to lead the Bulldogs on their trip to Billings West and Billings Senior. He scored 16 points each game. Ferguson, who led Butte High in scoring in six of the last seven games, is averaging 13.8 points per game.
Haley Herron
The Butte High Sophomore scored 23 points to lead Butte High to a stunning 57-51 comeback victory over Butte Central. The win was the first over Butte Central since 2014. Herron is averaging 7.7 points and a team-best 6.4 rebounds per game.
Jeff Queer
The Butte High Senior won the heavyweight title at the Tom LeProwse Invitational wrestling tournament. His victory led the Bulldogs to a third-place finish in the 32-team tournament. Queer is the defending Class AA state champion in the heavy weight division.
Ally Cleverly and Haley Herron
Cleverly is a Junior, while Herron is a Sophmore. Both Butte High players scored 11 points as Butte High went on the road to knock off Kalispell Flathead 39-31 just before Christmas. The win evened Butte High’s record at 2-2 at the break.
Brittney Tierney
The Butte High Junior guard scored a career-high 22 points to lead Butte High to a 66-58 win over Missoula Big Sky. Two nights later, Tierney scored 15 points as Butte High fell in a hard fought 44-38 battle with Helena Capital.
Catherine Russo
The Butte High Sophomore won the 50 yard freestyle and the 100 yard butterfly at the Butte Invitational swim meet. Russo is the defending state champion in both events. She set a personal record for the 50 freestyle, while winning the 100 butterfly by nearly 10 seconds.
Bo Mortensen and Greyson Mandic
The Butte High seniors play their last high school game against Missoula Big Sky. Mortensen is a running back, while Mandic plays on both sides of the line. Both will close their careers as four-year football lettermen.
Corbin Walker
The Butte High Senior linebacker led an inspired Bulldog defensive effort at Great Falls High. Walker has been at the heart of the Bulldog defense all season long.
Aubree Corcoran
The Butte High Freshman placed 28th out of 324 runners at the Mountain West Classic in Missoula. Corcoran finished the 5 kilometer race in 19 minutes, 41 seconds. The impressive showing came one week after she placed sixth at the Butte Invitational.
Isaiah Weldon
The Butte High Senior fired a 33 on the back nine at the Butte Country club for a final-round 73 to lead the Bulldogs to the team title of the Anaconda/Butte Golf Tournament. Weldon placed second in individual standings
